Functional Training
The Past:
The focus of most training regimes revolve around strength gains and hypertrophy(Gain in muscle size).

Fact:

Modern strength training and bodybuilding involve the use of 'abnormal' loads and volumes, and thus strict 'abnormal' positions have to be used to support that type of training approach.

The Present and the Future:

Functional training focuses on training movements - not muscles. This method of training involves the use of more functional positions (i.e. Positions that we use in everyday life. Like bending over to pick something off the ground, the positions we are in when walking down a flight of steps, or a simple push/pull movement). Many misinformed fitness professionals however ASSUME that these functional positions are dangerous.

At Pro-Fit, we believe that not only should these positions be tolerated, but they need to be trained instead of avoided - or you will likely end up rehabilitating the injury that will result from lack of control.

Our Functional training approach will not only help you look and feel better, but you will also be able to function better! Otherwise, what is the use of having nice and toned muscles, when you can't use them efficiently?
